My Personal Approach to Halloween
While I hold faith-based beliefs, I am a Christian who doesn't celebrate Halloween. However, I try to maintain my focus on loved ones and do my best to ignore the holiday. Instead, I prefer to spend the day going about my normal activities, doing my best to keep my attention on my faith.
The Nostalgia of Halloween
Take a stroll down memory lane with me. My Halloween preparations have always involved a blast from the past. I've combined old materials from Google parties or conventions, along with some reconditioned items I've salvaged from TV commercials, dating back to 30 years ago! These materials include:
The front of the house The front yard 30 year old bookshelves Pimple cream commercial windows Miscellaneous wall flatsAnd don't forget about my beloved mausoleum! It's a quirky touch that adds a unique charm to our Halloween decorations.
Ghost Hunting and Scary Excursions
Another activity that captures the spirit of Halloween is ghost hunting. During October, I join haunted location tours and even join monster hunts. It's a thrilling experience that fills me with excitement for the season. Trailing famous haunts like Pope Lick Monster and Hopkinsville Goblin is a highlight of my haunted month.
During these excursions, I enjoy scaring people and watching the joy on the children's faces. I used to assist in organizing Halloween games for kids a few years back and found it was a lot of fun.
Sharing the Magic
Believe it or not, I don't have a favorite Halloween activity. However, most people, especially Halloween enthusiasts, have their go-to activities. For many, the most popular favorite activity is trick-or-treating.
Trick-or-treating typically involves children and sometimes adults who dress up in costumes and go door-to-door in their neighborhoods, asking for candy or other treats. It's a fun and creative event that gathers a sense of community and joy.
Community and Family Connections: Halloween is a time for both children and adults to enjoy the thrill of dressing up, playing games, and indulging in sweet treats. Hectic and festive, the holiday brings people together, creating a magical atmosphere in the community as houses are decorated in spooky and whimsical themes.
Popular Halloween Activities
Of course, there are a variety of other activities that make Halloween a memorable experience. These include:
Attending costume parties Carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns Watching scary movies Visiting haunted attractions Participating in community events such as haunted hayrides or haunted housesEach person's favorite activity may differ based on their personal interests and traditions, but one thing is clear: the essence of Halloween is about celebrating in the company of loved ones, enjoying the season, and relishing in the magic that the holiday brings.
So, whether you opt for a thrilling ghost hunt, a fun-filled party, or a cozy night in with friends, let us all embrace the enchantment of the Halloween season and enjoy every moment it brings!
