The Shows That Left Me with Nothing to Watch After Binge-Watching
The Shows That Left Me with Nothing to Watch After Binge-Watching
Binge-watching is a modern phenomenon that has transformed the way we consume television. While there are countless shows out there, some leave us feeling empty or uninspired, making it difficult to move on to new content. In this article, I will share some of the shows that left me with nothing to watch after binge-watching all the episodes.
Fringe
While Fringe was on the air, I didn’t get the chance to watch it, but when it came to streaming services, I decided to give it a shot. To say that this show blew my mind is an understatement. It was so captivating and mind-bending that I spent weeks afterward reading old recaps and articles. My friends and family couldn’t understand why I was so late to the party, but for me, it was a revelation. It took me a while to start watching anything else, and eventually, I bought the DVDs to enjoy it again and again.
The Originals and Legacies
At the moment, I am re-watching The Originals and considering the spin-off Legacies, but I am not particularly interested in diving into it right now. Much like the original, it is a show that leaves you wanting more. It delves into the supernatural and has a deep, complex storyline. However, it is the original that truly had the impact.
Wentworth: The Australian Television Gem
Another show that left me with nothing to watch is Wentworth. This brilliant Australian TV show is so well-written, well-acted, and thought-provoking that it has made me lose interest in other prison-themed shows such as Orange is the New Black. It is more than just a story about incarceration; it delves into the complexities of human nature, making it a truly captivating and depressing watch. It has completely killed any hope of me ever returning to prison-themed shows for the time being.
BoJack Horseman: A Timeless Classic
BoJack Horseman is my favorite show on television in the past 6 years, and it may even be my all-time favorite. This animated series is so brilliantly executed that it has made me stop watching other shows like Modern Family and Family Guy. The writing, the characters, and the storytelling are unparalleled, making it a true masterpiece. It is the reason I couldn't go back to those other shows, as BoJack Horseman sets a new benchmark in excellence.
Parasyte The Maxim: A Drain on Emotions
Another show that left me feeling emotionally drained is Parasyte The Maxim. This anime is so emotionally intense that I couldn't find the energy to watch anything else for a long time. The complex plot twists and deep emotional impact left me feeling empty and unable to move on to other shows. It truly is a show that takes the enjoyment out of everything else because it was so good.
Samurai Jack: A Season of Sorrow
Samurai Jack is a show that I haven't seen the new season of yet. However, before the new season, it was undeniably my favorite animated series. When the show ended in the 2000s, I found myself devastated. I longed for Jack to return to the past so dearly, and a piece of my soul felt incomplete. When I finally watch the last season, I am sure the realization that it is all over will be even more devastating. It's a show that reminds me of the passage of time and the inevitability of endings.
House MD and Sherlock: A Great Balance
When it comes to medical dramas, House MD was a perfect balance between doctor's personal life and medical enigmas. It was one of those shows that kept me hooked with its intricate plot twists and thought-provoking storylines. I briefly tried watching Grey’s Anatomy, but the plot lines kept becoming increasingly complex and outlandish, which detracted from the show's overall appeal. On the other hand, Sherlock was enjoyable, but not as much as House MD.
These are just a few of the shows that have left me with nothing else to watch after binge-watching all the episodes. Each one has its unique impact and emotional weight that has made them stand out in my viewing history.
