The Resurgence of White Collar and the Demise of Progressive Ideals

The resurgence of the white collar profession is intertwined with a broader trend of reverse evolution and the revival of intolerance. This phenomenon can be traced back to the lingering effects of lockdown measures and the increasing influence of mainstream media, particularly social platforms like Zoom and Boomers' age.

Reverse Evolution and Social Media Control

The world has come full circle, with society evolving back to a more rigid and inaccessible structure. Factors such as prolonged lockdowns have led to a regression in our societal progress, where Zoomers and Boomers have exerted a dominant influence on the internet. This has caused a significant shift in public perception, with ideas that were once progressive now being met with disdain. Social media platforms, in particular, have played a substantial role in shaping these perceptions.

People now firmly believe that equality is a bad thing. That giving coloured actors who never got big roles is a bad thing, and that progress is a bad thing. This shift in mindset has led to a peer-pressured mindset, moving society towards a "white power" ideology. Even those from minority groups have been known to attack the very concept of wokeness that was meant to help them, simply because they have been led to believe it is negative.

Analysing the Role of White People

Why did white people cause this all? The crux of the issue lies in the natural inclination of white individuals to remain in positions of power and representation. For decades, minorities have been pushing for a more inclusive and diverse representation in entertainment, sports, and other fields. However, the younger generations, particularly Millennials, sought change and diversity, leading to a surge in coloured actors and the rise of Anime. This shift was further amplified by the Boomers' transition to retirement, which brought in a wave of Zoomers who sought to control the narrative and redefine the way progress is viewed.

The woke movement that emerged during this period became an attack and a philosophy rather than a means for progress. White figures began to take control of the narrative, representing minorities and speaking on their behalf, often without fully understanding the nuances and challenges faced. This led to a backlash from those same groups, resulting in a cycle where every discussion is centered around white individuals and their needs.

It is evident that the underlying issue is the perpetuation of a limited and narrow definition of success that revolves exclusively around white people. Efforts towards diversity and inclusion have been met with resistance, leading to a reinforcement of these limiting perspectives.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the resurgence of the white collar profession and the erosion of progressive ideals are two sides of the same coin. Social media influence, lockdown measures, and the influence of age divisions have contributed to a significant shift in societal values. While diversity and inclusion are still ideals that many aspire to, the current landscape perceives them as hindrances. The key to reversing this trend lies in fostering a more inclusive and respectful conversation that embraces all perspectives equally, without sacrificing progress for the sake of a narrow and rigid worldview.
