The Path to Professional Gaming: Tips from a Gamer’s Journey

Players often wonder about the journey that turns a hobby into a professional pursuit. From the first game at the age of three, to earning a place among professional gamers, this journey can be both exciting and challenging. In this article, we will explore the path that led the author to become a professional gamer and the tips for aspiring gamers to follow.

Growing Up with Gaming

My journey with gaming began much earlier than most. Playing classic PC games on my Windows 95 system sparked a passion that has lasted over two decades. From the iconic 'Aladdin' and 'Sonic the Hedgehog' to more complex titles like 'Age of Empires', my early gaming experiences laid the foundation for a career in professional gaming.

Key Games in My Early Journey

One of my earliest games was 'Jeff Gordon XSRacing', a PC racing game that triggered my competitive spirit. However, it was 'Age of Empires' that truly tested my dedication and perseverance. I spent an entire year playing this game during my first year in class before realizing its non-finishable nature. This realization marked the beginning of my journey into various genres and titles.

Gaming Through the Decades

From classic titles like 'GTA 5' and 'COD Black Ops 3' to modern hits like 'PUBG PC' and 'The Witcher 3', my passion for gaming has evolved over the years. Each game offered unique challenges and experiences, contributing to the development of my skills.

Status as a Pro Gamer

According to me, to be a professional gamer, one needs to focus on finishing the story mode of a game within one week without using cheat codes. This remains the hallmark of true skill and determination. Other tips include making sure to take headshots in a maximum of two bullets, using knives or silent guns in games like 'Splinter Cell' or 'Hitman', and not playing more than 3-4 hours per day with short breaks to prevent burnout. Additionally, completing real-world games at 100% completion adds to the overall gaming experience.

Lifetime of Gaming

The dedicated hours put into gaming have added up to impressive totals. After over ten years of constant gameplay, I have accumulated nearly 5000 hours of gaming. However, the journey hasn't ended here; rather, it has led me to new pathways, such as transitioning to game development and design. Despite my accumulated experience, I still have much to learn, particularly in the realms of precision targeting and stealth gameplay.

Final Thoughts

While I am still considered a novice in refined gaming techniques, such as taking headshots without crosshairs or scope, my journey is highlight of continuous learning and growth. The quest to improve my skills and share my experience with others continues, and I am excited to see where this path takes me next.
