The Lies We Once Believed: A Perspective on Life and Beliefs

Did you ever believe in a lie that seemed too good to be true? I often reflect on a common belief that I once held, which was that deleting all my social media accounts would magically solve my life's problems. This is a common misconception that many find appealing: the idea that by removing themselves from social media, they can reclaim their lives and become more productive.

Social Media: A Temptation that Dual-Edged

I thought, “Disciplined living here I come!” I believed that by getting rid of my social media accounts, I would suddenly have loads of free time to be more productive. However, this turned out to be far from true. Sure, I did have more time, but surprisingly, I wasn't suddenly a productivity ninja. I just found new platforms to waste time on. The truth is, social media is a platform that can both connect us and disconnect us from the world if we're not mindful.

From Isolation to Loneliness

Looking back, I found myself feeling a bit lonely. Memes and reels, which once connected me to the world, are now just WhatsApp and Telegram. Even though I study more, loneliness still knocks on my door. Yet, I remain content knowing that I've taken a step towards mental peace and productivity, even if it means sacrificing social media connections.

A Probabilistic Approach to Beliefs

Now, let's talk about atheism. I used to believe in it, a belief that many people hold until they start questioning their beliefs more deeply. While I still hold a probabilistic view on atheism, I now believe it to a lesser extent. This change came after a period of introspection and deeper exploration of different belief systems, including not only non-religious viewpoints but also Christianity. After a comprehensive review, I've come to believe that Christianity offers the best answers, whereas atheism still lacks in several areas before it can be considered a robust worldview.

The Reality of High School and Beyond

Lastly, I want to address a societal belief that thriving in life (particularly in high school) often involves being sensible, good, or quiet. This is a dangerous idea because it tells people to suppress their true selves. In reality, many individuals feel the same way: the education system and culture are often at odds with fostering genuine growth and positivity. True development requires a reevaluation and overhaul of our current systems.

Society needs to shift its focus away from the culture of mean and towards creating an environment where kindness and education are celebrated. As we move forward, it's crucial to take steps to produce better humans and create a more compassionate world. The planet needs rapid change, and so do our education systems. It's not too late to make a difference, and it's our responsibility to lead the way.

Twenty-first-century solutions require collaboration, empathy, and a willingness to adapt. By embracing these values, we can build a world that values the individual and is dedicated to the well-being of all.
