Tesla Experience: Worth It? A Personal Evaluation and Choosing the Best Electric Car

In May 2023, I received a Tesla Model Y for my wife, and now it's been over a year and a half, my opinion is overwhelmingly positive. The car offers a smooth drive, a plethora of functions, and boasts a long driving range of about 520 km (320 miles) in maximum range. No issues have arisen, and it has no faults. We are extremely satisfied, and my wife wouldn't replace it with any other car.

Tesla Model Y: An Overview

The Tesla Model Y is a stylish, spacious, and comfortable all-electric SUV. Its functionality and performance have exceeded expectations. However, the long-range driving is affected by factors such as the use of air conditioning during hot weather. Still, the car's range is more than sufficient for our needs.

Functionality and Comfort

The vehicle is equipped with modern features and a user-friendly interface. The driving is smooth, and the car offers a comfortable ride for both passengers and drivers. The software updates have continually improved its performance, and the latest update allows for control from an Apple Watch—a convenient and innovative feature.

Personal Experience with Teslas

I have owned a Tesla S 100D for several years. While I am confident in my decision to buy another electric vehicle, I unequivocally state that I would never buy another Tesla. I believe the company is run by a criminal and a liar. Business with criminals and liars is not acceptable to me.

Two Teslas, Two Perspectives

Although I have two Teslas—a Model Y and a Model 3—I find them to be functional and reliable, especially in terms of hardware. However, when it comes to service and parts, Tesla falls short. The negative experience with Elon Musk's behavior and decisions has led me to avoid further association with the brand.

Other Electric Cars

There are other electric vehicles that exceed the capabilities of Teslas. Despite my initial positive experiences, my preference for electricity-driven vehicles has not wavered. The Tesla Model Y is the best car I've owned, hands down, but I do believe there are better options available on the market.

Personal Journey to Owning a Tesla

I've dreamed of owning a Tesla since the Roadster was introduced in 2008. The initial price was too high, so I patiently waited until the Model S was introduced in 2012, which was still beyond my reach. Then came the Model 3 in 2017 and the Model Y in 2020, both more affordable but hindered by various life circumstances.

In 2023, we finally paid off our previous car and had the means to get a Tesla. In 18 days, I will have had the Model Y for a year. My driving experience with the Model Y is remarkable, and I've covered more miles than typical users, making it clear that I am a loyal Tesla fan and will undoubtedly purchase another model in the future.

It became apparent from my three experiences with Tesla vehicles—driving a rented Model Y, a Model 3, and an owned Model 3—that I am fully convinced of the Tesla brand. The car's performance, comfort, and range, along with its innovative features, have made it a joy to own and operate. While I will not buy another Tesla, I will continue to support the EV industry and recommend it to others.
