In Mohabbatein, Amitabh Bachchan played the role of a principal and a father figure, aged 57, while Shah Rukh Khan played a youthful teacher and friend to his young students, aged 35. This film represented a new chapter for Amitabh Bachchan, transitioning from hero status to a prominent character actor. Prior to Mohabbatein, he had played a great-looking old man in Suryavansham, but in that film, he still played the hero as well. Similarly, in Lal Badshah, he had a double role with hero status.

Today, at nearly 55, SRK is at an age reminiscent of Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Mohabbatein. Could this be a chance for another career-defining comeback? As was the case in Mohabbatein, SRK played a 'senior' character, a role that could help him redefine himself in the industry once again.
