Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War in Hindi: Is It Worth Watching?

Is Avengers: Infinity War worth watching in Hindi? Unless you're up to something illegal like downloading a torrent, the answer is a resounding yes! The Hindi version of the movie can be either the original with Hindi subtitles or a dubbed version in Hindi.

Personally, I recommend watching the movie in its original English version. Watching in English can help improve your English fluency and communication skills, especially for Indians like me. Plus, it’s a thoroughly engrossing experience too! Why not give it a try?

The Disadvantages of Hindi Dubbing

Sure, there are reasons people dislike watching movies dubbed in Hindi. Here are some of the common complaints:

The dialogues may not hit the emotional mark as accurately as in the original. Characters may struggle to convey emotions or depth, especially in intense scenes. Hindi may seem too far-fetched for a sci-fi movie set at a galactic level.

It's ironic that, despite only about 20% of the world speaking English, people still feel the dubbing makes the movie less enjoyable. The truth is, Avengers: Infinity War is an excellent movie, and dubbing it in Hindi allows many more people to enjoy it, not just a select few.

Good Examples of Hindi Dubbing

There are examples where Hindi dubbing works exceptionally well. Here are a couple of scenes that showcase the effectiveness:

Thanos' Opening Monologue

Thanos: Hear me and rejoice. You have had the great privilege of being saved by the great titan. You may think this is ! It is salvation. The universal scales... tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Even in death, you have become children of Thanos!

Drax’s “Man, This is a Man” Quip

Drax: He’s not a dude; you’re a dude, this... is a man. A handsome, beautiful man.

These scenes, translated into Hindi, still capture the essence and emotion of the original dialogue, proving that dubbing can be done well.

Another scene that caused a stir is when Thor is rescued by the Guardians. Drax's quip about Thor’s masculinity is a perfect example of how humor and emotion can be retained in a dubbed version.

Conclusion: Appreciate the Multilingual Marvel Experience

In my opinion, criticising a Hindi dubbed version of a Marvel movie because it's not in English is pointless. Watching a few Marvel movies in English and then ridiculing the Hindi version does not make you cool; it makes you look foolish. Nor does it make you a hardcore Batman fan, as evidenced by the most inaccurate representation of comic book Batman in the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Remember, for battles on a massive scale in Hindi/Sanskrit, you can always look to the epic Mahabharata. This concludes my case. Choose the Hindi version of Avengers: Infinity War and enjoy it to the fullest!
