Lokesh Kanagarajs Post-Vikram Release Line-up: Action and Expansion
Lokesh Kanagaraj's Upcoming Projects Post-Vikram
After the critical and commercial success of Vikram, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is gearing up for a busy slate of projects. This article outlines the upcoming releases and the intriguing details behind them, providing insights into Lokesh's expanding cinematic universe.
The Immediate Next Script – Adaptation A to B
Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on a script he had initially pitched back in 2015. The story, originally intended for a newcomer as the lead, was rejected by three producers. After several rounds of revisions, the script was finally approved. This time, the lead role is assigned to an established superstar who played an ex-Army officer. Rumors are swirling that Vijay, a popular Tamil film star, may take the lead, though this remains unconfirmed.
The Rolex Project
Another project in the pipeline is Rolex, with a back story centered on how this character became who he is. Despite the failure of the previous Billa II, Suriya, known as an actor-producer, is eager to get involved. Meanwhile, Amazon, a major player in the film circuit, is backing Suriya and shows a lot of enthusiasm for this project. Suriya is regarded as a harbinger of success in the industry, hence his backing adds significant weight to the project.
Sequel to Vikram
Kamal Hassan has announced that there will definitely be a sequel to Vikram. The title of the sequel is yet to be finalized but it will feature roles for Rolex, played by Fahad Fazil, Karthi, and Kamal himself. This sequel promises to be a high-octane affair, carrying on the legacy of Vikram while giving a new dimension to the beloved character.
Telugu and Tamil Projects
Both Telugu and Tamil cinemas are looking to produce exciting projects under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction. There is a strong interest in a Telugu movie or a Tamil film starring a Telugu star, either NTR Junior or someone of similar stature like Ram Chandra or Allu Arjun. In a bid to lure these big names, a whopping 20 crore flat fee has been offered.
Untitled Project in Tamil
Lokesh Kanagaraj pitched a project to Kamal Haasan, featuring both Kamal and Rajini in roles akin to Robert De Niro and Al Pacino from a Hollywood classic. The plan was to have Rajini play the role of 'Billa' the Ageing Don, while Kamal would play a significant role. However, Rajini did not back the proposal, largely due to the success of Kamal's Vikram. Rumors have it that Rajini might reconsider after the massive success of Vikram.
To stay updated on the latest details and news about Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming projects, it's recommended to follow reliable film news sources or wait for official announcements from the producers and stars involved.
