Hogwarts: A Real Place or Just Fiction?
Hogwarts: A Real Place or Just Fiction?
To be honest, it's not. But how can I know that? After all, it's magic, and magic can go directly against logic or science. It's hard to believe because I grew up as a muggle and wouldn't believe it unless I had real proof and saw magic with my own eyes.
When I was 10, in 2017, I was just waiting for my envelope to Hogwarts. I dreamt about going, thinking it was real. Now I know that someone wrote fiction about it, and it is definitely fiction.
Yes, of course they are real!
I am a former Hogwarts student and just out of my seventh year. I'll tell you about my experience:
House: Gryffindor Age: 18 Current Job: Daily Prophet writer Wand type: Vine. Dragon heartstring. It has a beautiful white shellAccording to J.K. Rowling's version, it's pretty accurate but not quite. Here are some updates about the Wizarding World for Muggles:
Post-Second Wizarding War
Since You-Know-Who and his daughter Delphi were defeated, and all the surviving Death Eaters have been put in Azkaban, the Wizarding World has been mildly peaceful or as peaceful as it can be. Quidditch comes up in about two months, and we're hoping England goes to The World Cup! The scene of the Ministry where Muggles were put in their place has been changed. Now the statue depicts the Muggle Prime Minister and the Minister of Magic shaking hands and smiling. As the Minister of Magic and Muggle Prime Minister change, so do the appearances of the statue. This shows that the Wizarding World has become much more accepting nowadays.
Where the Line Stands Between Muggle and Wizard
Muggles know about grammar and reading, after all, we’re wizards and witches, not illiterates. Most wizards have a vast vocabulary, which is necessary for writing the Daily Prophet.
Hogwarts: After the Second Wizarding War
Hogwarts has been rebuilt after the Second Wizarding War, and Professor Slughorn is now the Headmaster. He succeeded Professor McGonagall, who retired after my third year. Currently, Hogwarts still has the Triwizard Tournament with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang Institute. I got picked to be in the tournament in my fifth year as they lifted the rule that you had to be in your seventh year to participate, mainly because there was no need for it anymore. Unfortunately, I didn't win.
Hagrid is still the Game Keeper but has gotten older, and it's harder for him to move. Trust me, if he tried to pick up Harry Potter again, it wouldn't work. Fun fact: We now have a spellbook available to Muggles!
In summary, while Hogwarts in the books is fictional, my experience as a former student and the current state of the Wizarding World paint a picture of a world where magic is very much part of everyday life for those who can see it.
