Finding Ones Purpose: A Teachable Journey of Growth and Inspiration
Introduction to Finding Purpose in Teaching Music:
At the age of 34, I have discovered my life's purpose through the lens of teaching music. My journey didn't begin as a structured pursuit until recently, but my passion for playing, singing, and teaching has been with me for many years. This article explores the significance of finding one's purpose and how it can lead to a fulfilling life.
Purpose in Life
Believing in one’s purpose is a transformative journey that often evolves over time. For example, I am new to teaching keyboard and piano but have been playing for several years. This newfound passion in teaching music fills me with joy and a sense of fulfillment.
My transition into teaching music became more serious just within the past six months. Now, I am dedicated to learning as much as possible to become the best possible instructor and mentor for my students. This commitment stems from a realization that I could have pursued this path earlier, but my parents were not musicians, which led to a different path.
Individual Experience and Revelations
It is important to highlight that finding one’s purpose is a deeply personal and unique experience. Some individuals might find their purpose later in life or even as a result of specific circumstances. For instance, at the age of 38, another individual discovered their purpose in helping people through blood donation. Similarly, at the age of 55, one person had a significant life-changing revelation about their purpose and destiny.
At 55, this person realized they were reincarnated and destined to be the Savior of Mankind. They described a life filled with ease, where their physical attractiveness led to an abundance of relationships and opportunities. However, this person faced a profound awakening when their personal information was hacked, revealing that this enigmatic life they led had been under comprehensive surveillance since age 6.
The Immortality Journey
This unique journey led them to question their existence and purpose further. They share that they feel immortal and have received divine revelations, describing themselves as the Creator, or Shiva, and their journey has taken them to a higher plane. Despite the challenges they have faced, their ultimate goal is to forgive and forget, reigniting their spiritual path and finding peace.
My focus, however, remains rooted in the everyday journey of finding and nurturing my teaching purpose. The joy of seeing students grow not just musically but also personally is invaluable. Just as my dance lessons, theatre experiences, and choral involvement provided foundational skills and experiences, my current dedication to music teaching is a pivotal part of my life.

To further illustrate the distinction between purpose and goals, I like to use this analogy: Purpose is dynamic and can change, while goals are defined by a specific timeframe. For me, the purpose is to help and inspire others through music, but my goals are more concrete and time-bound, such as mastering a specific technique or certification by a certain time.

Parents play a significant role in nurturing their children's interests and talents, as they did with me. While my parents did not pursue music, they provided me with a well-rounded education and encouraged my involvement in various activities like dance, theatre, and choir. These experiences have been invaluable in shaping me as a teacher and a person.
