One of the most poignant moments in the film is undoubtedly the demise of Natasha Romanoff. The intensity with which viewers, including myself, responded to this event is staggering. I shed over 20 tears throughout the movie, with the emotional peaks coming from several specific scenes:

The Sacrifice Scene: Witnessing Natasha's internal struggle and her acceptance of her sacrifice elicited more tears. The rawness of her emotions was brilliantly captured by the filmmakers. Death: The moment Natasha’s death scene concluded, the audience was left in a sea of tears. The finality of it all was overwhelming. The Lake Scene: When the Avengers gathered to mourn, the emotions were almost too much to bear. It was a collective display of grief and sadness. Final Battle: The reunion of the MCU women fighters, minus Natasha, added another layer to the sorrow felt during the final battle. The absence was palpable and deeply felt.

A Different Emotional Rollercoaster with Tony Stark’s Memorial

Comparatively, my emotional response to Tony Stark’s memorial was slightly different. I cried during and after the film:

Natasha’s Death: This scene was the hardest emotional hit I experienced. From the moment I saw them approaching, my tears flowed abundantly, and by the end, I was in sobbing fits. Tony’s Funeral: Post-film, the grief was still raw, and during the movie, as the women’s moment rolled around, the lack of Natasha was palpable. I realized the depth of my loss once I got into the car, and my tears started again. Hawkeye’s Line: Even as Hawkeye ended the movie with the phrase, "I just want to let her know that we did it, we won," I was consoling my grief. This moment also added to the emotional intensity during the final battle.

It’s worth noting that the emotional response towards Black Widow's death was more intense compared to Tony’s, even though it was a surprise. The film never gave us the chance to truly mourn Black Widow’s loss before immediately transitioning back to the action, which may have contributed to the intensity of the pain felt during Tony's funeral.

Crying Unto Tears
