Doctor Strange and the Inevitable Questions about Thor’s Headshot

Since Doctor Strange saw 14 million different futures, don't you think he could have somehow relayed a message to Thor to aim for the head?

The Problem with the "Only One Chance" Plot Point

I have a problem with the singular plot point in the movie Avengers: Infinity War. If Doctor Strange had the foresight to see the entire timeline from their initial confrontation with Thanos to the final showdown, why couldn't he have seen the moment when Star-Lord snaps and attacks Thanos? Would it have been possible for Strange to either warn Thor in advance to temper his shock or tell him that Thanos would lie about it to throw him off balance?

Preventive Measures Against Star-Lord's Interference

There were several ways they could have prevented Star-Lord from interfering with the plan. The idea of "only one chance" was used to create a dramatic margin of victory. However, this singular approach overlooked the possibility of multiple successful outcomes.

Why Targets Aiming for the Head?

Let's look at some typical examples of when people go for the head. In each of these cases, the killers are 100% confident that their victims will not fight back. Given the context of the final battle, it's unlikely that Thor or anyone else would have opted for a headshot. Moreover, it's crucial to remember that Thanos has the full Infinity Gauntlet, and he may be invulnerable to such attacks.

Doctor Strange's Time Limitations

When considering the sheer number of outcomes, it's crucial to acknowledge that 14 million was not the stated total of all possible outcomes. It's possible that Strange was looking for a winning outcome, and the number 12,000 he saw was just the first winning vision he encountered. He may have had to review all 14 million outcomes to find the one that aligned with the desired result.

Additionally, there's a time constraint. Doctor Strange didn't have the luxury of time to go through all possible outcomes. If he had more time, the number of potential futures could have been in the billions or even trillions, making the process even more daunting.

Thanos's Taunts and the Outcome of the Battle

It's worth considering an alternate scenario where Thor did indeed aim for Thanos's head. What if a headshot still had no effect? After all, Thanos becomes all-powerful with the completed Infinity Gauntlet. His taunt to Thor about "You should have went for the head" could have been a calculated move to make Thor feel like a failure, thus emotionally weakening him. This strategy ultimately succeeded, as we saw Thor broke emotionally in the final scenes of Avengers: Endgame.

These unanswered questions add depth to the narrative and highlight the complexity of the ending in Avengers: Infinity War. While fans continue to debate the possibilities, it's clear that Doctor Strange and his foresight played a crucial role in the outcome, even if not in the way we initially expected.
