BTS 'Life Goes On': A Song of Hope and Resilience Amidst Pandemic

“Life goes on” as the name suggests is a song to remind all of that no matter what happens, negative or positive, life will go on. It must. Just like after a storm, there is bright sunshine. Just like after night, there is day. After sorrow, there is happiness. Life is an ocean with ups and downs, and each wave is a part of it.

“One day the world stopped without any warning Spring doesn't know how to wait so it came without notice On the street where footprints have been erased here I am falling down I'm going alone I am sorry without even saying a word, yeah”

Life goes on was released in 2020, a time when all of us were locked in our homes, unable to see each other or breathe outside. These feelings of being locked up during the pandemic are spoken through the song. The pandemic was a tough situation, and the earth lost many of its inhabitants, including loved ones. The virus eventually led to more loss and tragedy.

“Close your eyes for a moment, hold my hand here Let's run away to the future”

How wonderful it would be if we could just run to the future, when everything would be like before - lively, and people could get out and breathe in the nostalgic freedom. When the pandemic would be under control, and we could meet each other without anything holding us back. In this case, when BTS anticipate a future when they can finally meet their fans and perform live instead of online concerts, they long for the cheers of the crowd, which was a driving force of their blazing energy. ARMYs, a significant part of their lives, longed for the reunion as much as we did.

Assurance. BTS are assuring us that everything will be okay. They are assuring us that the good old days will come back again soon. Because life goes on. Another day will pass by in the blink of an eye. Like this, many days will pass by rapidly, and in no time, we will be able to meet again. We will be able to take a breath of relief, smile again, and live again. Sorrow doesn't last for long; nothing lasts forever. Happiness will reign our lives again.

We always start and end with the words 'goodbye' BTS is thankful that ARMY x BTS bond is still the same, full of love and consideration for each other. They are thanking us for always being there, even during that hard time. They are promising us that we will never change. We, ARMYs and BTS, will always be a big family, regardless of the situation or time.

The beauty of 'Life Goes On' lies in each line, each word sang out, each glance spared by the members while they perform. The maze of emotions in my heart slowly starts to unfurl and the complicated scars of my own thoughts start fading as soon as I hear their soothing voices. Something like nostalgia, assurance, affirmation, support, comfort, and peace, calming yet strong feelings of hope for a better future, hope for a better life than before, and hope for a better world, are inclusive of this song.

Let's hold on till the end. Let's endure now so the future can be a bit easier. Let's believe in ourselves. Let's believe in each other. We can do it, just like we have always done.
