Arya Stark’s Final Mission: Killing Drogon or Daenerys?

Highly Unlikely to Kill Daenerys Targaryen

Given the series' finale and the current directions of the characters, it is highly unlikely that Arya Stark will kill Daenerys Targaryen, also known as the ‘Queen of Ashes’. Instead, she is more likely to take on the challenge of slaying Drogon, her opponent in the fire and ice battle.

At the end of season 8, the narrative clearly shows that Arya and Drogon are heading in opposite directions. Arya is on a journey to the west, as she once said, 'West of Westeros, no one knows.' Meanwhile, Drogon is being guided back towards Essos. Their paths are set to cross at a crucial moment, and Arya's expertise in the art of killing makes her the perfect candidate to handle Drogon.

The Potential for Tragedy Between Jon and Daenerys

While Jon is part of Daenerys' court, Arya's relationship with Daenerys has never been personal. There are no tragic or emotional dynamics that would make slaying Daenerys a deeply tragic act. In contrast, the reunion of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen emphasizes their close relationship, particularly after Jon’s arrest and revival, which makes his death a more poignant event.

Arya's Proven Success Against Deadly Creatures

Arya Stark has already demonstrated her capability to defeat supernatural and powerful foes. Not only did she manage to kill the fearsome Night King, but she also proved her archery skills by taking down the scorpions. This paves the way for a more dramatic conclusion, where she faces a dragon.

Logistical Challenges for Arya Against Daenerys

Even Euron, known for his clownish demeanor, managed to kill a dragon. Considering the practical limitations, it would be more feasible for Arya to face Drogon. Arya has shown remarkable archery skills and would find it more plausible to penetrate the dragon's scales with an arrow than to engage in a physical fight where her skills might be less effective.

Historical Evidence and Prophesies

In the books, it is hinted that a dragon might be killed by a weirwood arrow. Arya's warrior training and her deadly arrows have been a recurring theme in the series, making it a reasonable assumption that her weapon of choice will ultimately bring her victory against Drogon.

Final E6 SPOILERS

According to the latest episode, it is indeed Arya who will carry out the deed, killing Daenerys Targaryen while risking her own life. This mirrors the method used by the Faceless Man who blinded Arya, suggesting a similar fate.
