Am I Alone in My Disgust for Trump as President?

Those of us who voted for third parties or challengers did so as a big F you to both political parties. We knew that Trump would not accomplish much, especially regarding his border wall, and we were aware that Mexico was not going to pay for it. Initially, I believed that a failed businessperson such as this was the lesser of two evils and that he would grow into the role of the presidency. Unfortunately, my hopes were crushed as witnessed in the 2020 election where both candidates seemed to possess equal levels of corruption. It is saddening to think that these are the two morons that America is offering as its brightest leaders for the future.

Only a combination of unfortunate circumstances allowed a narcissistic sociopath, with zero managerial and negotiating skills, to occupy the Oval Office. It is clear that the 2016 election was a significant turning point, as it tarnished my pride to be an American. Now, I am not proud of the country and people from other nations no longer view the USA as an ideal place to live. Trump has become the worst thing to happen to America in a long time.

To feel more comfortable referring to Trump, simply prepend the word “Fake” to the title “President.” This modification makes it easier to discuss a con artist who managed to deceive and manipulate his way into the White House. His election was a weakness of democracy and a result of two decades of effective Fox News propaganda. It is a nightmare, but as the saying goes, bad dreams do not last forever.

It is important to recognize the difference. While there were policies I disliked under Obama, he still held the office of the President. On the other hand, Trump’s behavior and policies are so detrimental that it is difficult to use the term “President” without anger. At the end of the day, he probably does not care if one refers to him as “President Trump”, but using that term reflects a childlike behavior.

I was given a list of answers about my thoughts on Trump and warned that my responses are not appropriate. Despite this, I stand by my opinion. Trump is a disgusting human being. Using his name in the same sentence as “President” makes me ill. The spineless Republican Party has utterly failed in its duty to nominate and support a candidate who has cheated at business, lies constantly, and insults minority groups, the LGBTQ community, disabled individuals, and heads of state. This guy would be a joke if he wasn’t the President of the United States. The Republican Party and the minority of citizens who voted for him should be ashamed of their support.
