A Heartwarming Reunion: My Reaction to the Friends Reunion Show
FRIENDS is one of the best TV series that has held the record for running for 10 years straight. The show beautifully portrays how friends can take the family’s place in times of need. All the characters are extremely well portrayed, and watching them come together in their new reunion special is a visual treat for the audience.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S Reunion is available on ZEE5 and can also be watched with YuppTV Scope.
My Reaction to the Friends Reunion
As an audience member, I felt really amazing when I saw the reunion episode. Overall, it was a great watch. I’ve grown up watching friends, and just seeing the beloved characters come back together was really nice to witness.
I LOVED the revamp of the embryo game, and the table reads were on point. The actors still have all the chemistry they had in the original series. My only problem was the guest stars. I genuinely do not understand why David Beckham, Malala, BTS, and other guests were invited. Friends is one of the most popular shows of all timethey mentioned in the show itself that there were like billions of views of the show. Friends already has all the hype they need. Inviting guest stars wouldn’t do much. I would have loved to see Mike and Carol, Susan, and Ben as the original cast.
Also, I was not a big fan of James Corden hosting it, but that is because James Corden sometimes gets on my nerves. But overall, it was a great reunion. Iconic.
Unscripted and Nostalgic
Talking about reunion, it is truly emotional to watch our favorite characters from our favorite TV shows getting old. Being a hardcore FRIENDS fan, I'm still unsatisfied, but I just want to spend more time watching them together. The show was hosted by James Corden, and a special mention should go to the iconic intro scene fountain. It all started with Ross entering the set of friends, slipping into nostalgic memories of the old days. He was excited to see the other friends cast. Pheobe, the same as expected, was struck by nostalgia too. Then came Rachel, Monica, Joey, and finally, our favorite character, Chandler.
Chandler and Joey spent most of the time in their barcalounger recliners, recreating the old Oahhhh scene. Monica was busy finding her lines on the dining table and sink. Joey told a story about how he messed up Monica’s day by erasing her lines on the dining table. The part where they all came in front of the iconic fountain, James Corden hosted, is also memorable.
There were also cameos of the previous cast, including Tom Selleck, Richard, James Michael Tyler, Gunther, Elliott Gould, and Christiana Pickles. Judy, Maggie Wheeler, and Janice were in the scene this time, and our non-friendly downstairs neighbor Mr. Heckle. Some celebrity fans, like Justin Bieber and BTS, and some fans from across the world, shared stories about how Friends changed their lives.
Indeed, the reunion was unscripted and, to an extent, a little odd. There were no punchy lines, which is understandable, given the unscripted nature of the event. The beautiful part was when they recreated the game played in “The One with the Embryos,” adding a nostalgic touch to the reunion.
In conclusion, it was an emotional and nostalgic experience to witness this reunion. The FRIENDS fans will love every minute of it, and the behind-the-scenes moments added an extra layer of authenticity to the special episode.
